Research Areas
Dr. Weller's current research interests are in the areas of planar and electrically-small 3D antennas, development and application of novel microwave materials, additive manufacturing for RF/microwave design, and electromagnetic sensors.
Biography
Dr. Tom Weller is the Chair and Professor in Electrical Engineering at the University of South Florida. Thomas M. Weller received the B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering in 1988, 1991, and 1995, respectively, from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. From 1988-1990 he worked at Hughes Aircraft Company in El Segundo, CA. He joined the University of South Florida in 1995 where he is currently a professor in the Electrical Engineering Department and co-director of the Center for Wireless and Microwave Information Systems (the WAMI Center) Dr. Weller has been the chair of the USF Electrical Engineering Department since 2012, and served as the Associate Dean for Research in the USF College of Engineering from 2008-2012.He co-founded Modelithics, Inc. in 2001, a Tampa-based company specializing the microwave modeling services and CAE model libraries.
